Stay Safe in Your Mazda

Three 2024 Mazda models have recently earned the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The 2024 Mazda 3 sedan, Mazda 3 hatchback, and the Mazda CX-30 have all received this honor.

The selection process for models that the IIHS deems worthy of the TOP SAFETY PICK+ title is not easy; in 2023, they’ve made the qualifications even stricter. To be named a TOP SAFETY PICK+, models are required to earn a good rating in the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, and original moderate overlap front, as well as in the updated side tests. Vehicles must have acceptable or good standard headlights on every trim. Additionally, the car needs an available front crash prevention system with advanced or superior ratings in daytime and nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations.

The Mazda 3, in both its sedan and hatchback variants, includes a standard front crash prevention system that received superior ratings in the daytime and nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations. Of the two headlight options available depending on the trim, one was rated good and the other earned an acceptable rating. The CX-30 also excels with a superior rating in the daytime and nighttime tests. Both of the available headlight options received good ratings.

It’s great to see the Mazda brand ranking so well in something incredibly important, safety. When you purchase a Mazda vehicle, you can be assured that we are committed to producing cars that value the safety of everyone on the road. The TOP SAFETY PICK+ title affirms the work Mazda is doing to prioritize safety and give drivers peace of mind.
