The European and American Models Propel Mazda Even Further Into Luxury

By now, you probably know that Mazda has made a name for itself as a brand that defines luxury while maintaining its affordability. A new look at the 2023 Mazda CX-60 and the 2023 Mazda CX-70 further demonstrates the brand’s efforts to move deeper into the luxury space. Let’s take a look at what we know so far about the upcoming models. 2023 Mazda CX-60 The Mazda CX-60 is a release specifically for the European market. Here in the United States, we can expect the upcoming 2023 Mazda CX-70 will be pretty comparable. The CX-60 is the first in a lineup of SUVs with longitudinal engines from the brand. This engine will allow the SUV to drive with similar handling and performance to that of luxury vehicles, such as Mercedes. This vehicle is set to inch the brand even closer into the luxury market. Mazda CX-30 is the answer to the Subaru Crosstreks lackluster performance

In 2013 most car makers were just starting to explore the “Compact Crossover” segment. Nissan was trying some quirky designs with the Juke and Subaru had just said goodbye to their long-standing Impreza “Outback Sport” trim line to make room for a new addition to their vehicle lineup. The idea of the Subaru XV Crosstrek was simple, take the 5 door Impreza hatchback, put it on a lift and add a more rugged appearance package. The result was a small AWD crossover that grabbed a quick following. The only problem was- that it was boring. In the years that followed the Crosstrek (Subaru dropped the XV in 2016) developed into a true lower cost option for customers looking for small AWD SUV. Subaru has continued along the same road in the most recent update to the model as well. 2018 saw an updated body style it was more evolutionary than revolutionary. The result is still bland. From the low powered 2.0L 4 cylinder engine to the doggish response of the CVT transmission, there is no argument- the Crosstrek is boring. In fact, in this current day and age where nobody can seem to agree on anything, this seems to be the one thing that the internet can all get behind. Fortunately, there is an alternative! Other companies have developed their own compact crossover SUV offerings often with the same result- low power and disappointing cargo space. Mazda however, is the 1st one to add some much-needed joy and performance to this segment. Enter the 2020 CX-30. Don’t let the name fool you- it’s not just a slightly larger version of their smallest SUV the CX-3, but instead, it’s a brand new design meant to give drivers of compact crossovers something that they’ve been demanding for almost a decade.
