The CX-90 harnesses Mazda’s electrified Large Platform to deliver exceptional dynamic performance, leveraging cutting-edge features such as a double-wishbone front suspension, multilink rear suspension, and standard i-Activ AWD. It is integrated seamlessly with advanced software like Mazda Kinematic Posture Control (KPC). This design provides a secure and exhilarating driving experience by keeping the CX-90 firmly grounded on the road.
The CX-90 introduces the new 3.3 Turbo Premium Sport and PHEV Premium Sport models for the latest model year. Additional updates include safety, seating, and more. Let’s take a look at what you will find in each option.
CX-90 3.3 Turbo Select
The base trim starts at $37,845 MSRP. Its e-Skyactiv G 3.3 Turbo engine produces 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Regular 87-octane fuel has an EPA estimated range of 24 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.
The inline six-cylinder engine also features M-Hybrid Boost, a 48-volt mild-hybrid assist system that enhances efficiency and improves throttle response at low speeds. Like all CX-90 models, this powertrain is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with i-Activ AWD, ensuring a dynamic driving experience.
The exterior has an array of excellent standard features, including distinctive 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a silver metallic finish, a convenient power liftgate, roof rails, automatic on/off LED headlights with auto-leveling, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, High Beam Control, power and heated side mirrors with LED turn signal indicators, and rain-sensing windshield wipers for enhanced visibility. The “Inline 6” fender badge is now in black and bright finishes. Adding black garnishes and a sleek black honeycomb front grille enhances the overall aesthetic of this model.
Inside, the 3.3 Turbo Select provides seating for eight, featuring bench seats in the second and third rows that can seat up to three passengers. Drivers will enjoy the standard black leatherette seats, complemented by a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel featuring paddle shifters. The vehicle boasts a seven-inch TFT LCD instrument panel display and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support for added comfort.
Occupants will appreciate a range of standard features, including a 10.25-inch full-color center display with the Mazda Connect infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlayâ„¢ and Android Autoâ„¢ integration. Additional amenities include an eight-speaker audio system, Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry, push-button start, front and second-row dual USB inputs, rear power windows, and a three-zone automatic climate control system with AC vents in the third row.

Standard i-Activsense features in the 2025 CX-90 include Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring with Vehicle Exit Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning System with Lane-keep Assist, Rear Seat Alert, and Driver Attention Alert.
CX-90 3.3 Turbo Preferred
Building on the 3.3 Turbo Select is the 3.3 Turbo Preferred, which starts at $40,945. A seven-passenger configuration is an available option for those seeking second-row captain’s chairs with armrests and a center aisle for easy access. The exterior has been enhanced with sleek piano black accents and a front grille mesh.
The 2025 model year introduces a 12.3-inch full-color infotainment display to the Turbo Preferred. The display includes wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, featuring intuitive touchscreen capabilities. This package now includes wireless phone charging and front and rear parking sensors.
This trim also features a power sunroof, elegant black or greige leather seats, heated front seats, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and retractable window shades for the second row. With the upgrade to USB-C for quicker charging and the addition of another set in the third row, this trim now offers six inputs, enhancing convenience across all three rows.
CX-90 3.3 Turbo Premium Sport
The 3.3 Turbo Premium Sport, an exciting new addition for 2025, starts at $46,400. It offers the same optional seating layout and features (and more) as the Turbo Preferred.
All CX-90N Sport models are differentiated by aesthetic details, including a blackout design, a glossy black honeycomb front grille, a black chrome signature wing, and an “Inline 6” fender badge. The vehicle has 21-inch wheels in metallic black and black front and rear lower bumpers. Additional details include black door garnishes, black side mirrors, and roof rails, enhancing its sleek aesthetic.
Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive) is also featured, which offers Sport, Off-Road, and Towing modes. Regarding towing mode, the towing capacity has increased to 5,000 lbs. when using Mazda Genuine Towing Accessories.
Taking things another step further, the Premium Sport treats drivers to a power panoramic moonroof, a hands-free power rear liftgate, an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support, and two memory settings, Bose 12-speaker audio, a 12.3-inch digital cluster combined with a head-up Active Driving Display, a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, a Mazda Navigation System with Off-Road Navigation functionality, improved interior LED illuminations, SiriusXM satellite radio with a three-month trial and SiriusXM 3 Yr. traffic and travel link subscription.
This model is equipped with advanced i-Activsense safety features and standard features. These include Emergency Lane Keeping with Blind Spot Assist, Road Keep Assist, Head-on Traffic Avoidance Assist, Secondary Collision Reduction, and Cruising & Traffic Support.
CX-90 3.3 Turbo Premium Plus
Next up is the 3.3 Turbo Premium Plus, which starts at $49,400. This trim is offered solely in the seven-passenger configuration. The interior also has black or white Nappa leather seats, a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, an eight-way power adjustable passenger seat, heated second-row seats, and a 150-volt power outlet in the cargo area.
The model is further enhanced with a windshield wiper de-icer, automatic power-folding and auto-dimming side mirrors, bright “Inline 6” fender badging, and 21-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a silver metallic finish.
The 3.3 Turbo Premium Plus is equipped with even more enhanced i-Activsense safety features, including a 360° View Monitor with See-Through View, Rear View Monitor (dynamic reversing guidelines), Smart Brake Support Rear, Smart Brake Support Front Crossing, Front Cross Traffic Alert and a security system (burglar alarm).
CX-90 PHEV Preferred
We’re moving into the PHEV category! The PHEV Preferred starts at $49,945 and comes with the e-Skyactiv PHEV powertrain. This powertrain features a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine coupled with an electric motor with a 17.8kWh high-capacity battery. It achieves 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque when using the recommended 91-octane premium fuel. The PHEV is designed to run on only the electric motor in various driving scenarios. All CX-90 PHEV models can tow up to 3,500 lbs. when using Mazda Genuine Towing Accessories.
Mi-Drive comes on all CX-90 PHEV models, which includes Sport, Off-Road, and EV drive modes. The EV mode enables the driver to operate the CX-90 PHEV solely on electric power and battery for as long as possible.
For 2025, all CX-90 PHEV models will feature a 12.3-inch full-color center display, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto integration, featuring touchscreen capabilities and front and rear parking sensors. Drivers can choose between the eight-passenger seating or seven-passenger seating configurations.
Standard features include 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels with silver metallic finish, roof rails, a sunroof, heated side mirrors, a power liftgate, a fully digital 12.3-inch TFT LCD instrument panel display, six USB-C ports (two per row), three-zone automatic climate control with third row AC vents, and heated front seats in black or greige leather.
The standard i-Activsense safety features for the CX-90 PHEV include Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring with Vehicle Exit Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, a Lane Departure Warning System with Lane-Keep Assist, Rear Seat Alert, Driver Attention Alert, and an anti-theft immobilizer system.
CX-90 PHEV Premium Sport
New for 2025 is the CX-90 PHEV Premium Sport, which starts at $54,900. Like the Turbo variant we mentioned earlier, the model is distinguished by blackout exterior elements.
The PHEV Premium Sport also has more than one seating option for seven passengers. These include a second-row bench seat featuring a 50/50 split for two passengers, second-row captain’s chairs with a pass-through option, and a three-passenger rear seat that folds in a 60/40 split configuration.
Further interior enhancements include a power liftgate, a head-up Active Driving Display, Mazda Navigation System with Off-Road Navigation, a frameless, auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink®, improved interior LED illumination, eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat with power lumbar support and two-position memory, eight-way power passenger seats, Bose® 12-speaker audio sound system, SiriusXM® satellite radio with a 3-month trial, and SiriusXM® 3 Yr. traffic and travel link subscription. A convenient 1,500-watt charging outlet is also located in the rear cargo area.
Premium i-Activsense features on this trim include Emergency Lane Keeping with Blind Spot Assist, Road Keep Assist, and Head-on Traffic Avoidance Assist. It also includes Traffic Sign Recognition, Secondary Collision Reduction, and Cruising & Traffic Support.
CX-90 PHEV Premium Plus
The PHEV Premium Plus starts at $57,950. It adds exciting exterior features such as 21-inch aluminum alloy wheels with machine-cut finish, a windshield wiper de-icer, a bright “PHEV” fender badge, and automatic power-folding and auto-dimming side mirrors.
This seating arrangement accommodates seven passengers and features heated captain’s chairs with armrests in the second row, allowing easy access through the center. Additionally, the third row includes a three-seat bench for added comfort. Other interior features include luxurious Nappa leather seating options in black or white, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, ventilated front seats, and a 150-watt accessory power outlet.
This model’s added i-Activsense safety features include Smart Brake Support Front Crossing, Smart Brake Support Rear, Front Cross Traffic Alert, a Rear View Monitor with dynamic parking guidelines, and a 360° View Monitor with See-Through View.
CX-90 3.3 Turbo S Premium
The 3.3 Turbo S Premium runs on Mazda’s most powerful mass-production gasoline engine, the e-Skyactiv G 3.3L Inline 6 Turbo, which has a horsepower of up to 340 and 369 lb-ft of torque when using the recommended 91-octane premium fuel. The model, which starts at $52,950 MSRP, has an EPA estimated range of 23 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.
All CX-90 3.3 Turbo S models feature Mi-Drive modes, including Sport, Off-Road, and Towing. When fitted with Mazda Genuine Towing Accessories, they achieve a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs.
The CX-90 3.3 Turbo S Premium provides a versatile seating arrangement for seven or eight passengers, allowing you to choose between a second-row bench seat or captain’s chairs with armrests and a convenient center walkthrough.
On the outside, the Turbo S Premium boasts 21-inch machine-cut finish aluminum alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, a body-color rear roof spoiler and wheel arch moldings, a bright “Inline 6” fender badge, automatic power-folding and auto-dimming heated side mirrors, roof rails, and an adaptive front light system.
